Court took a strong stance
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court recently awarded a six-month jail term and fine to a man for getting married the second time without the consent of his first wife. Such decisions which are not only in accordance with the law but also go in favour of the women who have been wronged are important to restore people’s, especially women’s, faith in the justice system of the country. They also encourage others to seek legal assistance in such cases.
