BERLIN: It is very easy to criticise and very difficult to do some real work for the poor. I am personally 100 per cent sure that the lives of at least some children have been changed by Greg Mortenson’s work. As for his novel, well novels can sometimes have a bit of exaggeration, but Mr Mortenson has shown that even one person can bring about a change to the lives of hundreds and perhaps thousands of people, and that this change can come through education and not through guns.
All those now criticising him need to ask themselves that what they have done by way of practical action to bring about positive change in the world around them.
