It is only because of the HEC that our degrees are being acknowledged worldwide.
ABU DHABI: This is with reference to your report of April 18 titled “HEC devolution: Stakeholders to be taken on board, says Rabbani”.
It is only because of the HEC that our degrees are being acknowledged worldwide. If our degrees were not attested by the HEC, they would be nothing but worthless pieces of paper.
The HEC has succeeded in its goal of ensuring quality education, evident by the accreditation given to it by the World Standard Organizations. Those who are in favour of the HEC being disbanded at the federal level and its powers and functions devolved to the centre should try and see the larger picture. Yes, there may be faults with it but it has by far done better than any other government institution in Pakistan devoted to education.
I should clarify that I am not on any HEC-funded scholarship. All that I have received as a result of the good work done by it is my university degree,
