This time around the PML-N is likely to face a tougher contest
LAHORE: The by-election for NA-120, which is being held after PM Nawaz’s disqualification, is set to see another round of political strafing between PML-N’s Kulsoom Nawaz and Dr Yasmeen Rashid of the PTI. PML-N has retained the constituency since 1985 either by electing their former party head for the seat or by choosing their nominated aides.
However, this time around the PML-N is likely to face a tougher contest, since political loyalties might not necessarily win over the tainted reputation the party has earned with the disclosure of the Panamagate scandal. Following Nawaz’s lifetime disqualification and Maryam Nawaz’s political career tainted by uncertainty, maintaining its political flair and hold in the constituency is going to be quite a task for the ruling party.
