Solidarity with Rohingya

Letter September 06, 2017
Hundreds of Rohingya are being persecuted — murdered, raped and abused — by the Myanmar authorities

ISLAMABAD: The situation which is now known as the ‘ethnic cleansing’ of the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar is absolutely saddening. Hundreds of Rohingya are being persecuted — murdered, raped and abused — by the Myanmar authorities and the West, especially the UN which is a huge advocate of the human rights hasn’t done much to ease the sufferings of the minority group.

It is great to see that Muslim states like Turkey and Iran have spoken out against the atrocities and have also pledged to help, while Pakistan too has shown its concern. Other Muslim states should also join hands and help their fellow Muslims. There is power in unity and we need it to stop the genocide of the Rohingya community.
