Many move abroad with the firm decision to never come back
MULTAN: Over the past few years with the availability of not-so-competitive scholarships, every Pakistani undergrad or grad student aspires to move abroad for further studies. The reason for such enthusiasm could be better future prospects or likely (for most of the Pakistanis) the vibrancy of the life abroad. Given the eagerness among the youth to avail these scholarships, an often neglected downside is the unwillingness of many to come back to Pakistan. Also, many move abroad with the firm decision to never come back, with the idea of better work opportunities and a brighter future proving alluring.
Nevertheless, this brain drain, wiping off the talented pool from the country will have disastrous consequences in the long run. As it is impractical to stop people from availing better opportunities the government must provide the youth with better prospects so as to ensure their return to the country upon completion of their education.
