Sexism and women’s harassment at workplace is certainly a reality
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA from Waziristan Ayesha Gulalai left the party on Tuesday, August 1st, on the pretext of unfair treatment of women, putting forward grave allegations against the top party leadership. Ayesha claims to have received harassing texts from the party leader, Imran Khan, back in 2013 but a credible journalist inquires reasons for her silence for the past five years.
Sexism and women’s harassment at workplace is certainly a reality, but hurling accusations without any supportive evidence only weakens Ayesha ‘s stance and supports the notion of her leaving the party for not receiving the party ticket for the next general election. To deal with the matter tactfully, Ayesha must take notice of the assertions from both the sides and ensure implementation of necessary action if the accusations are found to be true.
