ISLAMABAD: One of the most important ingredients for a society to grow and stand on its own feet is when it starts questioning, reasoning, analysing and working on results. The openness to thoughts and viewpoints begins when there is abundance of knowledge and opinions are freely channelled and expressed.
Pakistan has been a society where freedom of expression has taken major strides in the last decade. The electronic media’s invasion and over 50 channels broadcasting multiple views provided an opportunity to exercise logic over emotions. The intellect of voters always defines the future pathways. The broader horizon of opinions has helped in gradual rise of intellect and preference for fact based approach.
This enlightenment has also caused political improvements. The political parties are gradually inducting intellectual minds and taking steps that won’t be ridiculed. This increase in rational thinking will induce greater sense of awareness and readability to overcome any societal odds. The quality of life will also improve with informed moves being made, while acceptance for low quality and less sensible steps will be minimal.
