Technological revolution

Letter June 21, 2017
Indeed science has come a very long way

NEW YORK, US: This is in response to Amin Jan Naim’s article titled “Larger dimensions” published on June 19th in this newspaper. It is always a privilege to read his writings. I too am a fan of Yuja Wang, the Chinese pianist of Western classical music — she is truly extraordinary.

I believe Mr Naim has spotted the core of Pakistan’s educational crises. Indeed there is a serious lack of quality educators and a massive restructuring is needed at the primary and secondary levels. His analogy to the space time vibrations from the merger of black holes was particularly inspiring. Indeed science has come a very long way. I recently read about the CRISPR-Cas 9 technology in the MIT Technology Review. Much like Nergis Mavalvala’s work, the discovery of the CRISPR technology is also revolutionary.
