Reforming society

Letter June 14, 2017
The direction is usually in the actions

ISLAMABAD: An evolving society needs to have strong activists who challenge, question and guide the focus of society. Pakistan has been known as an intolerable society where norms are usually set by the powerful. There are millions of children who are left out of our educational system, thousands of women who are in poor medical condition during delivery and farmers crying out the dismal situation. The need of a collective mindset and attitude towards all these challenges needs to be determined.

The educationists, lawyers, artists, poets, sportsmen can together shape our society. Seminars, volunteerism, engagement with different sections of society to rope them in can galvanise an environment more lively and happy. The political forces are an attractive way to boost participation of the general public. With each political party having followers in millions, a basic agreement on the basic moral and social values can uplift our society.

The direction is usually in the actions. Our leaders have to practice these values every time they appear publicly as they are the ones leading the way of society.
