Water woes

Letter June 12, 2017
Citizens not only have to pay hefty prices for water tankers but also go for days without water if the water tankers

KARACHI: With residents of Karachi already suffering from the intense heat, power outages and piles of garbage on the streets polluting the air, our misery has been further aggravated by the shortage of water. In many localities of the city, the residents call for water tankers, as often during summers, owing to the increase in demand, water supply is disturbed. In some areas there is no water supply at all.

What’s worse? The citizens not only have to pay hefty prices for water tankers but also go for days without water if the water tankers themselves face a shortage and suspend supply for a few days.
