It is really exhausting to be a Pakistani cricket fan
LAHORE: It is not a shame that Pakistan lost the cricket match against India, but it is an embarrassment that it almost gave it away served hot on a crystal plate.
When the two nations collide, people anxiously wait to hear the results. But on Sunday, the ICC Champions Trophy Pakistan vs India match was over before it even began. Cricket experts knew the match was in India’s hand even before our captain Sarfraz Ahmed announced his side would bowl upon winning the toss.
Let’s face it. India ranks No 3, while Pakistan is at the 8th position as per the ICC ODI rankings. The Indian side is much more polished, innovative and modern in their approach to the game, while we are just trying to learn from our mistakes. However, despite such stark differences, the Pakistani fans expected to see a competitive match and feel the adrenaline rush sitting in front of their TV screens. But a few overs into Pakistan’s reply, the anticipation drained out and we knew we had lost.
It is really exhausting to be a Pakistani cricket fan, especially when your team refuses to do better.
