Desire to learn English is very prevalent in rural areas
GERMANY: This is in reference to Amin Jan Naim’s column titled ‘Enhancing the Pakistani mind’ that appeared in this publication on May 26th. I couldn’t agree more, especially on points he makes about English and Beethoven. Yes, indeed, the desire to learn English is very prevalent in rural areas, and rightly so. If you ask me, Germans generally would profit from speaking it as well! As for Beethoven, his music is beauty, beauty, beauty!
