The first time residents of Karachi have united through effective use of social media
KARACHI: The boycott of fruits for three days from June 2nd to June 4th in the metropolitan city is the first time residents of Karachi have united, through effective use of social media, to bring about change in the system. Whether boycotting fruits will help in curbing the practice of over-pricing and result in reducing the sky rocketing prices during Ramazan can only be known after its completion. But what it has certainly helped in achieving is our sense of accountability and uniting for the right cause; finally being able to put pressure at the right place and at the right time. Perhaps, this could give way to a new form of revolution in Pakistan.
