Why wasn’t a Powerplay taken much earlier, when Abdul Razzaq and Shahid Afridi were both at the crease?
HYDERABAD: Winning and losing is indeed part of the game but, as a cricket enthusiast who is obviously disappointed by Pakistan’s loss to India at Mohali on March 30, I have the following questions: 1) Why was our fielding so bad in such a crucial match? How can we give a batsman like Sachin Tendulkar four chances and still expect to win the match? 2) When India was under pressure during its batting, why didn’t the Pakistan captain place fielders in the slips and other close catching positions? 3) Why did Mohammad Hafeez, when he was well set, play such a rash stroke? The same is the case for Shahid Afridi or even Wahab Riaz, both of whom didn’t need to play the strokes that they did, which then led to their dismissals. 4) Why wasn’t a Powerplay taken much earlier, when Abdul Razzaq and Shahid Afridi were both at the crease?
