Shahid Afridi, you don’t need to say sorry to the Pakistani nation.
KARACHI: Who would have thought six months back that the Pakistan cricket team would make it to the semi-finals of Cricket World Cup 2011? First, the right to co-host the World Cup was taken away after the attack on the Sri Lankan team, then, a controversial series in England was followed by the ICC’s ban on three key players for spot-fixing and, to add to all this, there was also much delay before the name of the World Cup team captain was announced. So what if the Pakistan team could not win against India; they finished first in their group, beat Sri Lanka in a close match, ended Australia’s long winning streak, blew away West Indies in the quarter-finals and made it to the next stage!
Shahid Afridi, you don’t need to say sorry to the Pakistani nation because we are proud of our Green Shirts! Thank you for rekindling our cricket fever once again. Pakistan zindabad!
