The rise in cheating culture

Cheating in exams has become a national habit and is practised across the country

HYDERABAD: Cheating in exams has become a national habit and is practised across the country. In reality, it is a self-deception and ruse. There’s no doubt that we are producing a nation of cheaters through this horrible cheating culture in our education system, especially in government institutions. There is an academic dishonesty among institutions and the cheating culture is killing meritocracy. Most students cheat fearlessly these days, and what’s worse, the examination papers are leaked. Vigilance committees are set up to stop this, but nothing ever happens. This is especially true for public schools where the poorest system of education is in place, while private schools have reasonably good environments and decent level of education.

If the culture of cheating is controlled, teachers will certainly take classes punctually and regularly while students will be forced to study for examinations. The education system in the developed countries is based on such a system, which is why great brains are produced in every field. Most importantly, parents should also realise that it is better their children fail with dignity than pass by cheating.
