Studying in darkness

Letter May 04, 2017
The authorities concerned as well as the university administrations should help students

KARACHI: The problem of power outages is something we might not be able to see resolved in our lifetime. However, to add to this issue is the fact that government universities, such as Karachi University have no proper system to cope during hours-long power cuts. Despite having functional generators installed, many times the students have to sit through the classes with no fan and light. Without any ACs, studying during summers is already a troublesome task and to add to it is the frequent power outages. The authorities concerned as well as the university administrations should help students by ensuring their generators or UPS are working during power cuts.
