No habitat for humanity

Letter April 27, 2017
More humans in the world mean less humanity

KARACHI: More humans in the world mean less humanity, such has been the course the world over. Humanity is no more about being selfless, compassionate or empathetic; it is being selfish and ready to push others down to reap more benefits for themselves.

We can notice this in Karachi. Many people visiting the city are of the opinion that the locals are quite rude. People in places like Hong Kong and New York are also infamously stereotyped as being mean.

All over the world people are fighting over land, banning other people from coming in, making decisions and laws that are far from being compassionate or sympathetic towards others.

We used to be able to sail through the seas, arrive at a place and call it home if the environment favoured us. But now we go through tons of paperwork, get people to sponsor our working visa and face interrogations before we are finally permitted to move abroad.
