MAD (mutually assured destruction) may have prevented further wars with India.
CHANTILLY, VA, US: This is with reference to Dr Akmal Hussain’s article of March 28 titled “A very welcome invitation”. MAD (mutually assured destruction) may have prevented further wars with India — such as what could have happened during our Kargil adventure, but the cost of this “credible minimal deterrence” is bankrupting the country. And we still have people telling us that our defence spending is “very reasonable”.
