Quality education for all

Letter April 18, 2017
We need to ensure that this issue is solved from the grassroots level at the earliest

HYDERABAD: Pakistan’s progress will remain halted without quality education. According to Article 25A under the 18th Amendment of the Constitution, education is the fundamental right of every child. However, the ground realities are completely different.

According to the Pakistan Education for All review report 2015, about one-third of primary school age children are out of school and 42pc of the population is illiterate. On the one hand, we declare education a basic right of every child and on the other, the statistics paint a horrific picture. We need to ensure that this issue is solved from the grassroots level at the earliest.
