Women should be saved from all forms of violence
KECH: A woman in Gujranwala was critically burnt after she was allegedly set on fire by her husband’s mother and sister this past week.
The victim’s mother-in-law and sister-in-law allegedly doused her with petrol before setting her ablaze over a domestic dispute.
The woman was admitted to the District Hospital Gujranwala in a critical condition and 50 per cent of her body was completely burnt. The household had frequent domestic disputes which led to the death of the woman. It is certainly not the first such incident. Every day thousands of women become victims of domestic violence. The value of women in Pakistan is depreciating and there is no one to stand up for them. Focusing on values and respect for the gentler sex is the main agenda for the development of the country. Women should be saved from all forms of violence for the sake of the country’s development.
