The president of the High Court Bar Association Peshawar demanded protection from the government
TURBAT: Lawyers have always been approachable targets of attackers in this country. Attacks on lawyers show the failure of law-enforcement agencies. Recently, in Charsadda, a senior lawyer, Mohammad Jan Gigyani, was shot in his vehicle near Shabqadar earlier this month. Similar attacks have been witnessed in the country for an entire decade. In Quetta, on August 8, a generation of lawyers was killed. The president of the High Court Bar Association Peshawar demanded protection from the government but the question is, will the government be successful after its successive failures in providing safety?
