KU commute

Letter March 14, 2017
Time is very precious in a student’s life but commuting takes up hours of their time

KARACHI: Karachi University (KU) students live in different parts of Karachi. Most of them commute using their own vehicles while others use university buses. However, there are some places where the buses do not go, such as Metroville and areas of the Sindh Industrial and Trading Estate (SITE). Although a lot of students come from these areas, they must wait for public buses daily and switch two or three buses to reach KU. Consequently, they miss lectures because public buses are late or stuck in traffic jams.

Time is very precious in a student’s life but commuting takes up hours of their time. Some students do part-time jobs and thus, are always pressed for time. KU should provide a university bus for students of the SITE area. Students will secure more time for their studies and be more successful in their academic careers.
