CHANTILLY, VA, US: Everyone deplores the use of drones, especially when it kills innocent people. But the extent of that killing is highly exaggerated. Yes, mistakes in war are made. But the US authorities do go out of their way to ensure accuracy and minimise collateral damage. Why? Not because they are nice but because they are afraid of their own Congress and the backlash that will be created domestically.
But let us think of the counter-factual. What if there were no drones? Where would we be? Where would our economy be?
