PSL final (II)

Letter March 08, 2017
If all politicians talk about Pakistan, then why did they not take part in supporting international cricket players

BADIN: Finally, the Pakistan Super League (PSL)’s season second finished successfully in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium with the race won by the Peshawar Zalmis. Credit goes to Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, who made everything possible for the restoration of international cricket in the nation.

He used every machinery to maintain peace and the safety of every individual. In addition, we should be really thankful to the Pakistan Army, the police department, which played a very vital role in the success of the PSL final in Lahore and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi, who fulfilled their commitment that the PSL final would be played in Lahore.

It has been observed that only the Punjab CM took part in the restoration of international cricket in the nation, however, other politicians and opposition leaders fully tried that PSL final not be played in Pakistan.

I urge the PCB that players who refused to play in the PSL final in Lahore should be banned and not given a chance for any upcoming PSL series. It will be a good opportunity to give a chance to newcomers. If Pakistani players cannot come to play cricket on our home ground, then how can foreign players gain the confidence to come play cricket here?

If all politicians talk about Pakistan, then why did they not take part in supporting international cricket players to come to Pakistan and restore international cricket here? I thank the PCB, the PSL sponsors and the United Arab Emirates government who organised a beautiful PSL that ended this weekend and I hope they will keep continue the same efforts next year.
