Never ever will the ‘righteous ‘see light. Not without reason.
LAHORE: Ayesha Tammy Haq in her article of March 18 titled “Righteousness gets it so right”, could not have hit the nail any harder on the head to show us the lurid dichotomy of our views on murder and the Quranic law of qisas and diyat.
She also clearly shows how open to misuse, these laws are. But she is wrong on one count. She writes the righteous have seen the light. Never. Never ever will the ‘righteous ‘see light. Not without reason, the great Bulleh Shah likened the mashalchi (torch-bearer) and the mullah to forever themselves remain in the dark.
