Letter to NAB

Letter January 31, 2017
It could also have taken a more firm hand against other corruption cases in Pakistan

BADIN: This is a letter to the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). I am planning corruption of Rs40 billion and I will return it to him in the form of two billion rupees as plea bargain. Would NAB assure me my plea bargain, just like it had assured a former finance secretary of Baloachistan, Mushtaq Raisani, a plea bargain request?

The Supreme Court, parliamentarians and other important institutions have said that NAB is encouraging corruption rather than eliminating corruption. Many NAB officials blackmail low cadre officers for corruption and receive bribes. NAB catches small fish and fixes adjustments with big fishes. All of these allegations should be investigated.

NAB is politicised; it should have taken stern action against the Panama leaks, an international corruption probe. It could also have taken a more firm hand against other corruption cases in Pakistan. NAB must be defunct. A new anti-corruption organisation must be established, which will be non-political and have full power.
