Electricity crisis in Makran

Letter January 07, 2017
Makran division is being supplied merely 70 megawatts of electricity from Iran to support all of Makran

MAKRAN: Makran is the largest division of Balochistan and is deprived of the basic necessities of life. Despite the winter season, frequent power outages here cause great trouble to its residents, especially because there is no fixed schedule for the electricity going out. Unfortunately, Makran division is being supplied merely 70 megawatts of electricity from Iran to support all of Makran. The provincial government and Makran’s electricity supplier need to take serious action to provide more megawatts of electricity in order to eradicate this pathetic issue so the local people can be at peace.
