I think her only fault is being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
LAHORE: This is with reference to Miranda Husain’s article of March 5 titled “The sorry predicament of Lara Logan”. I was shocked to read that a well-known American journalist, while on a professional assignment, was sexually assaulted by Egyptian men. As it turns out, it seems that the incident has resonated with Egyptian women in general and how they are treated by the men in their country.
However, what is disturbing is that local as well as sections of the American and British media are attributing Lara’s appearance as an attractive blonde and her former years of being a swimwear model as justification for what happened and saying that she brought it upon herself since she knew the risks associated with her presence as an American journalist in Egypt. I think her only fault is being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
