Shahbaz Bhatti’s assassination (II)

Letter March 02, 2011
The assassination of moderate voices in Pakistan should be an eye-opener for all Pakistanis.

LAHORE: Shahbaz Bhatti’s death is a tragedy beyond words. Extremist militants continue to wage war against Pakistan in an attempt to shatter its global image to pieces. They have been destabilising Pakistan in their attempt to enforce their idea of the ‘true’ Islam onto the citizens of our nation. It is imperative that steps are taken to make the country more secular where the rule ‘live and let live’ applies.

The assassination of moderate voices in Pakistan should be an eye-opener for all Pakistanis. As a concerned citizen, I urge authorities to take serious measures to tone down religious extremism in the country.
