The state should protect the natural rights of human beings
QUETTA: The state has authoritative agencies to stop violence against human beings. Thus, we are confused to see recent violence in which a member of the transgender community from Sialkot was physically assaulted. Either the state failed to fulfill its role or transgenders are not considered human beings. If they are human — which they are — then why is the state silent over such a critical matter faced by innocent transgenders?
Men, women, and transgender persons have biological differences but patriarchal school of thought categorises the first two into superior and inferior beings and does not even assign a category to the latter, further dishonouring their existence altogether. Members of the transgender community have the right to survival and this right is not something given by the state or its patriarchal society, but by nature. The state should protect the natural rights of human beings and stop violence against transgender persons.
