Public miseries must end as soon as possible
LAHORE: The National Highway Authority floated tenders for adding two lanes on each side of Multan Road starting from Thokar Niazbaig to Hudiara drain some weeks ago. This stretch of about 10.7 kilometres remains choked with all kinds of vehicles day and night. The biggest hardship commuters entering or leaving the capital face is when large vehicles take U-turns to go to the bus stand to pick up and drop off passengers. If the Punjab government has decided to expand Multan Road by adding lanes in the stretch of 10.7 kilometres, what’s the delay? Public miseries must end as soon as possible. Instead of facilitating VIP movements all the time, the government should relieve the hardships of ordinary road users.
