Terrorising employees

Retired and rehired ‘babas’ are bullying regular employees in different public sectors at federal & provincial levels

ISLAMABAD: Unfortunately, some retired and rehired ‘babas’ are bullying regular employees in different public sectors at federal and provincial levels. The only fault of regular employees is to humbly request their administrative and employee rights.

These men are repeatedly rehired but are devoid of the fundamental values necessary for any profession, such as responsibility, self-control, justice, integrity, and fundamental rights of individuals and an organisation. Furthermore, they lack authenticity, openness, flexibility, cooperation, collaboration, trust, community, diversity, and meaningful participation in organisational affairs, democratisation and appropriate decision-making.

Piece-meal training programmes being arranged by different capacity training academies and institutes do not have any impact on improving the organisational efficiency of the employees’ perennial problems and grievances. For example, employees’ service rules and medical rules are not fairly farmed and implemented. Employees need nothing but an immediate solution to their problems. For that, we need a broader and more systematic approach to drive real change in public sector organisations, instead of terrorising and bullying them.
