Government organisations and civil society need to act collectively to overcome this disproportion
ISLAMABAD: According to the Gender Gap Report 2016, women are deprived of even their basic rights of educational attainment, health and nutrition, economic opportunities and political empowerment. The gender gap is the main impediment for Pakistan’s progress and women are the victims. The ratio of men to women is approximately equal, but the case is not so when it comes to opportunities for men versus women here and maybe this is the fault of our own flawed systems and principles.
Societies are judged by how people treat their women, old people and animals and women here are still the victims of many misfortunes. We are in an alarming situation. Government organisations, non-government organisations and civil society need to act collectively to overcome this disproportion and provide privileges to women in all sectors.
