JUBAIL, SAUDI ARABIA: This is with reference to several news reports, including one in your newspaper, quoting unnamed Pakistani officials who claim that Raymond Davis was in touch with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and may have been working with it. However, how does this tie up with the fact that the TTP has publicly cautioned the Pakistan government from releasing the American and also pressed for his trial and exemplary punishment?
Yes, he may have been on an espionage mission in Pakistan and now that he has been caught, our own agencies, who themselves have often been accused of being hand-in-glove with the Taliban, are using Davis as a punching bag.
