Get tough

Letter October 28, 2016
No one wants to see people being killed by terrorists

MUMBAI: It is sad to know that more than 60 persons mostly including police trainees were killed in the attacks at the Quetta police training centre. The incident is a grim reminder of our ailing security system. Despite the spate of the terror attacks, the international community is yet to wake up to the menace of terrorism.

The recent unabated attacks are clearly reflecting the Achilles’ heel of the world today with respect to handling terrorism. One is really at a loss to understand what holds back countries from getting tough with the terror menace. No one wants to see people being killed by terrorists. It is time to bring out a multipronged legal framework to deal with the terror menace. Perpetrators should be brought to book under the anti-terror laws.
