LAHORE: Why is Syed Noor making a film lionising a man who kills a blasphemer? Is it the timing — that is, right after Salmaan Taseer’s murder by his own police guard? Mumtaz Qadri has, since his heinous act, been defiant and non-repentant and continues to claim that he did it for the love of his religion. I can only say that such a movie is being made only to exploit such sentiments and if ever a film needed to be banned by the government or censored by the Central Board of Film Censors, then it should be Syed Noor’s latest venture.
