Judiciary vs executive

Letter February 18, 2011
I think that the apex court is encroaching on the function of parliament in this matter.

KARACHI: This refers to the Supreme Court’s suspension of a decision by the Parliamentary Committee on the Appointment of Judges, which had rejected extensions to four judges of the Lahore High Court. I think that the apex court is encroaching on the function of parliament in this matter. Clearly, parliament is a sovereign body because it embodies the will of the people via the fact that those who are members of parliament are elected representatives.
