LAHORE: I applaud the stand taken by our former foreign minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, in his press conference of February 16. The fact of the matter is that he did not say anything different than what the Foreign Office has been saying on the case of immunity for Raymond Davis. As for America, it should realise that bullying countries, which otherwise it calls its close allies, is not in anyone’s interest.
A look at our history tells us that Pakistan’s leadership has always supported America but got little in return. America should understand that it needs to not be seen as arrogant in this matter since public opinion on this matter in Pakistan is already quite inflamed.
