This beautiful animal’s natural habitat is our country’s coastline
KARACHI: A few days ago, while walking on Sea View Beach in Karachi with my family, in the morning, I noticed some fishermen gathering their fresh catches of the day. Among the trapped sea life, I noticed a few dead adult leopard whiprays of the sting ray species along with their offspring being sorted out by the fisherman, most likely for sale and profit purposes and took some pictures.
This beautiful animal’s natural habitat is our country’s coastline and they are on the vulnerable list of endangered species according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources. It would be appreciated if the department concerned, such as the local marine life department, could review the matter in order to conserve our valued sea life.
