Swat — remembering the past

Letter February 15, 2011
We should never forget those who were killed by the Taliban.

SWAT: This is with reference to your report of February 14 titled “Notorious ‘Bloody Square’ springs back to life”. The people of Swat were greatly harassed and demoralised during the time the Taliban were in control and it is excellent to see them try and live a normal life.

However, we should never forget those who were killed by the Taliban. For this, we need to set up a welfare trust to look after the families of all those who were executed by the Taliban. Also, some kind of memorial should be built to commemorate these people — perhaps a park that carries the names of all those who were killed.
