The PTI desperately needs urgent introspection and must focus on K-P and intraparty elections
LAHORE: The sit-in politics of the PTI has impacted its performance in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The anti-corruption drive under the dynamic administration of Hamid Khan has met a snail’s pace after his resignation. K-P desperately needs robust action against corruption, which is unlikely in the presence of the dysfunctional Ehtesab Commission. The same is the case with power-generation projects, which have not materilised after over three years. The inclusion of some traditional politicians and the exclusion of some upright political figures have reduced its popularity, which is evident from the losses in by-elections. This trend could certainly affect their vote bank in the 2018 elections.
The PTI desperately needs urgent introspection and must focus on K-P and intraparty elections rather than wasting time in result-less protests. No doubt, the Panama Leaks must be probed fairly but such issues should be appropriately discussed inside Parliament, because that is the only way to find a meaningful solution for all issues.
