Problems with FBR website

Letter September 28, 2016
The FBR should facilitate taxpayers properly through trained call agents

KARACHI: I have been a tax filer and I intend to submit my returns this year as well. However, I have been facing acute log-in issues on the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) website called Iris. Despite the number of attempts, I have been unable to log in to submit my returns. I have called their help centre many times. Even after holding on the telephone line for more than 20 minutes at a time, FBR call centre representatives give poor advice with clear indications that the agents have no relevant knowledge to facilitate taxpayers.

The FBR, which has always emphasised the need for tax submissions and filing returns, should facilitate taxpayers properly through trained call agents to result in less time spent waiting on phone to hear human voice on UAN numbers. As the deadline to submit tax returns for the year 2015-2016 is fast approaching, early action in this regard will be highly appreciated.
