KARACHI: This refers to your editorial on low grade petrol in Pakistan (September 16). Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has stated that the quality of fuel being imported in the country is of the lowest grade.
It has come as a surprise to learn that the only other country to use this low-grade fuel is Somalia. May be someone might be able to explain why one of the largest integrated oil companies is distributing 87 octane fuel in the United States, which is the largest consumer country in the world, and why it is showing this grade of fuel as their most popular gasoline.
