Cleanliness after Eid

Letter September 17, 2016
If we can keep our houses clean, then we can focus on our neighbourhoods

KARACHI: The occasion of Eidul Azha results in a gross mess for the city of Karachi. Some citizens in various colonies delayed the cleaning of waste from animal slaughter, who did not clean the garbage uptil now of the animals from the streets and colonies. Even after the three main days of the sacrifice, waste could be seen spreading a disgusting stench. Blood flowed on roads like water, which is unhygienic. Waste material is still lying on roads.

Such residents consider public roads as their private property. I would like to request the municipal authority in Karachi to keep a check on such people. We must work to keep the city clean. If we can keep our houses clean, then we can focus on our neighbourhoods. After that, we should focus on our cities. Eventually, the whole country will become clean.
