People are working hard together to sustain peace
DASKA: Hopefully, peace has been restored in the high altitude Gilgit-Baltistan region. Gilgit-Baltistan has achieved the first rank among the most peaceful regions of Pakistan, which is conferred on it by the Global Peace Index. Previously, it was surrounded by sectarian violence, fratricidal war and aggression, which was committed at the instigation of foreign elements. Now, the civilian leadership, along with the Pakistan Army, under the National Action Plan, has decimated the negative actors.
The region is one of the major stakeholders of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor mega project, which will bring economic prosperity to the region and the country. Hence, the area catches the eyes of foreign and indigenous elements that seek to do something that might stall the completion of the project. However, a mature political leadership and strong army have brought peace to the region. People are working hard together to sustain peace. So, like the peaceful effort by the army, intelligence agencies, civilian institutions and law-enforcement agencies in Gilgit-Baltistan, peaceful endeavours should also be made in each and every corner of Pakistan so that the whole country can be ranked among the topmost peaceful countries of the world.
