ISLAMABAD: The people of Egypt deserve to be congratulated and praised for standing up to a dictator who ruled over them with an iron fist for 30 years and compelling him to resign.
Hosni Mubarak’s chief flaw, as is often the case with dictators, was hubris. He thought he had become indispensable and that without him Egypt would not survive. And as the last few weeks have shown all too clearly, he was wrong to think this. Perhaps his judgment was impaired by his being in power for so long with no real opposition.
