A culture of corruption

Letter September 08, 2016
There is a need to look into these and to introduce measures that act as deterrents against corruption

TANDOJAM: A key role is played by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to extirpate corruption from the country that is the root cause of all evils. On the other hand, fundamentally, NAB is promoting the same culture in another way. Its work is not only to capture corrupt officers but also to dismiss them from rejoining the same post again.

On the contrary, NAB actually gives them a window to indulge in corruption again through its voluntary return and plea bargain mechanisms. There is a need to look into these and to introduce measures that act as deterrents against corruption.
