I, along with my fellows, request CM Murad Ali Shah to take due steps to resolve the problems above
GHOTKI: In 2012, a regular bachelor’s of education (B Ed) programme was launched at many government elementary colleges as well as at Shah Abdul Latif University in Khairpur by the help of USAID. The faculty was created for the purpose of training teachers for effective output in the education system. Its vital aim was to produce qualified staff.
After introducing the B Ed honours programme, its first phase began in 2015 at Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur. Four batches are under study for effectiveness of the programme. Being a major threat to education, private B Ed programmes are to be abolished in 2017, according to the notice issued by the Higher Education Commission. Children taught by teachers having private B Ed degrees results in a lack of ethics and competency.
To sum up, there is an astounding shortage at colleges where this programme is running, and due to a lack of proper subject teachers, education is suffering and students are being disadvantaged. Political interference is a great issue that should be kept aside while appointing teachers on merit basis.
I, along with my fellows, request Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah to take due steps to resolve the problems above, which are a hindrance to the development of a new educational era in Sindh.
